About The Book&Story

Neelkanthan’s this new Action-Adventure-and Historical Fiction category book answers the curiosity of Bahubali movie viewers’ to know about the beginning of powerful kingdom Mahishmati. Shivagami; grow as an orphan girl, with an intention to take revenge of her father’s death, who was murdered by the King of Mahishmathi. At the teenage Shivagami kills the king to bring Mahishmathi Empire under her rule and marries one of the foremost members of empire which brings her in the power and she becomes Raajmata Shivagami. Readers also come to know the past of other most powerful character, Kattappa while encountering other characters like GunduRamu& the Pattaraya which adds more enthusiasm in the story. It is a treat for the address as author has taken the description of the Kingdom to the highest level of detailing. His attention to even a minute detail in the narration; virtually plunks readers in Kingdom. However the main storyline focused on Shivagami, the offshoots take us to the phenomenal journey of the Kingdom and its social life.

Points of Appreciation:

  • Enormous and Grand Imaginary work which ignites your imagination throughout the story.

  • Writer has added 40 new characters to make this book even more interesting especially Villains are portrayed very excellently & powerfully. Jeemotha, Keki, to name a few.

  • Treat for readers who appreciate Fiction, mythology, courage & suspense.

Points of disappointment:

  • The story lacks sometimes to resemble with the Movie storyline which makes it little confusing.

  • Book is narrated in finest way possible, but sometimes over narration kills the joy of story.

  • On one hand where writer drafted Shivagami as powerful and brave character at the same time Shivagami founds her success through luck in most of the situations and not with her intelligence and courage. Somewhere it makes Shivagami’s bravery a contradictory thing.

  • Somewhere this book resembles Shiva trilogy in the building of story sequence, after this book readers have to purchase rest two, else it will no joy of reading previous book.

The Raajmata Shivagami, which was one of the most powerful characters in film Bahubali is the source of beginning of this book. The book takes your through multiple conspires and keep excitement level at maximum. Writing skills of Nilkanthan are excellent and dips reader in mysterious, suspense, action and adventures incidents. However, those who have seen Bahubali movie, they will definitely find that the level of excitement and grandeur of the story is lacking to accomplish the expectations compare to film. Though it does not turn you desperate to know what will happen next. It is good work as prequel, but not stands great as solo book for such powerful character like Shivagami. Overall this book is one-time read material; good enough to read in free times, but not makes you fritter sleepless nights over reading this book.
